Agnes grew up on a farm in Rathnure, Co. Wexford and has always loved country life and nature. From an early age she has been interested in photography and at the age of fourteen she received her first camera as a gift. She began photographing people, nature, trees and the landscape and also did her own developing and printing. She eventually started her career as a photographer and for sixteen years ran a studio in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary doing portraiture, weddings and commercial work.
Agnes has a very artistic mind, with a great eye for detail. Child portraiture gives her the freedom to be very creative and a lot of her work is done on location. For the last number of years, Agnes has been working from her studio in Rosbercon, New Ross.
There are many of Agnes’ images gracing the walls of homes and businesses right across Ireland. Over time Agnes has built up a large collection of images of Irish life which evoke memories for people, especially those who have moved abroad, away from home, family and friends. It was from this that the concept of ‘Irish Home Thoughts’ was born.
